running Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora Core, Ubuntu, SUSE Linux and Sun Solaris on Win2000 platform?

Is it possible to use a Virtual Machine software of some sort to run Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora Core, Ubuntu, SUSE Linux, Sun Solaris(only one at a time on a Virtual machine) on a Win 2000 platform or is there any other better way. Also, can any of the mentioned platforms(Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora Core, Ubuntu, SUSE Linux and Sun Solaris) can be obtained without charge? I know some are commercial versions of Linux so may carry a fee while others may not.

I just have one computer to experiment with and it is not recent(Pentium 4 2.2GHz and 512M RAM). I just need to use the above UNIX flavors to become fairly comfortable in them.

ubuntu is free from www.ubuntulinux.org. when installed it will install grub (a boot loader) so it would turn your system into a dual boot. recommend getting an empty drive to install it on (or an empty partition) since windows wont recognize the Linux format but Linux will recognize windows somewhat. OR you can run ubuntu from the liveCD that the ISO download creates therefore you wouldn’t have to install anything but every time you reboot or restart you would loose all your system settings.
