Booting issue on Kubuntu 8.10, the same goes for ubuntu, and any other 8.10 version.

How did i solve the problem:
edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst file
when you find this

title Ubuntu 7.10, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic root=UUID=xxxx ro quiet splash
Initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.22-14-generic

remove the “quiet splash” sentence and voilá

    Hi there,
I had the same problem after i changed my Bootloader.
So it should be a Bootloader problem.
I changed my Standard Ubuntu Bootloader into a verbose Bootloader like yours and then it started with this shit.
I used the “StartUp-Manager” to change it.
Their should be a spot like “show text at boot”.
Deactivate it and you should get your ears back :)

it’s flatlining!!! LMAFO!!! but seriously, try going into what appears to be vista in your boot list, and type in “chkdsk /r” without quotes (but it depends how you installed your unix distro, by Wubi or manual. I installed mine with wubi), but try that & let me know

to me it looks like a problem with the USB – I’d check the bios settings, attempt starting up with no usb devices connected – I’d use my serial mouse/keyboard – if that all still failed I would just unistall/reinstall
