The plug-ins we have      developed are under the      GPL, and we anticipate      the possibility of enforcing      the G.P.L on all G.C.C plug-ins      by requiring plug-ins      to export a function      is_GPL which returns      1, analogously to the      Linux kernels taint      mechanism. Depending      on G.C.C developer policy,      returning 1 could be      made mandatory in order      for G.C.C to run the plug-in.      In this paper, we demonstrate      the simplicity and power      of G.C.C transformation      plug-ins. In Section      2, we describe the modi?cations      to G.C.C that make plug-inbased      development possible.      In Section 3, we describe      some plug-ins that we      have already built using</p>
